NNU FACULTY AND SENIOR FELLOW AWARDED CHEWNING AWARD - Dr. Sam Dunn pictured holding awardDr. Sam Dunn, NNU business faculty and Senior Fellow since 1994, was recently awarded the Chewning Award from the Christian Business Faculty Association (CBFA), the highest award given by this organization.

“As Senior Fellow, Dr. Dunn continues to serve the NNU College of Business by teaching business courses and being actively engaged in the scholarship discovery, integration and application of business practice,” said Dr. Joshua Jensen, Dean of the College of Business. “Sam’s Christian character and the way he integrates faith in all of these acts of service is a true inspiration for all business faculty.”

The CBFA states that the “recipients of the Chewning Award should love the Word of God and manifest Christ-likeness in their scholarship and/or in the practice of teaching or serving in business. Nominees are expected to excel in the integration of Christian faith in learning through discovery, integration, application and/or teaching.”

“I am very honored to have received this award,” Dr. Dunn said. “I am so thankful to NNU for its support over the years to allow me to participate in accreditation and professional activities.”

The Chewning Award is named in honor of its first recipient, Dr. Richard Chewning—a role model of servanthood, an intellectual in business scholarship and an encouragement in leadership. Dr. Chewning’s passion for the integration of faith and business inspired the establishment of this annual award. The endowment sponsor for the Chewning Award is the ServiceMaster Corporation under the leadership of its CEO, William Pollard.
