Three Northwest Nazarene University Master of Social Work students walked away winners when they presented on House Bill 482, during the National Association of Social Workers Idaho Lead Advocacy Days at the state capitol. The event took place Feb. 24-25 and allowed social workers and social work students to hear from speakers concerning the bill that would ban conversion therapy for minors.
“We are extremely pleased with the efforts and accomplishments of these students. They have demonstrated a high level of professionalism regarding an important yet sensitive topic,” said Steffanie Altenbern, Assistant Professor of Social Work.
In addition to receiving class credit for their research, the NNU students were recognized for their work addressing the legislation and its impact on our communities.
