Plans for Northwest Nazarene University’s 2018 Homecoming & Family Weekend are officially underway! We want to extend an invitation to the NNU community of alumni, friends and family to join us on November 8-10 for a weekend full of exciting events.
This year’s homecoming will include special events to reconnect former NNU golf athletes. These include a reception prior to the homecoming game on Friday, November 9, and a chance to honor golf alumni during the game’s half-time. A golf reunion tournament will be held the following day, November 10. A chance for golfers past and present to compete for prizes at a BBQ following the tournament, all are invited to come and participate in what’s sure to be an entertaining afternoon.
Also celebrated over the weekend will be instrumentalist alumni and Dr. Jim Willis for his years of leadership and dedication to the music department. Instrumentalists have the opportunity to reconnect with Dr. Willis and friends for a reunion dinner, as well as the chance to perform together once again in the annual Department of Music Fall Concert.
In addition to these reunions, plan to join us for several other special events:
Opening Thursday night, there will be four opportunities to see NNU’s production of The Murder Room in the Little Theater. According to the Times, this “spoof of all crime thrillers” is a classic farce that puts all other murder mysteries to shame. Join characters Edgar and Mavis on the absurd ride of a lifetime as their story unfolds and hilarity ensues. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
The men’s basketball team takes on Northwest Christian University in the big homecoming game at 8:00 p.m. on November 9. Plan to join us for the Food Truck Rally at 5:00 p.m. and the SGA sponsored Overtime Party right after the game. Be sure to wear your Nighthawk gear and come ready for an exciting evening!
Join us Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the dining hall for the President’s Pancake Breakfast, or for one of the several other breakfast events for individual departments and alumni—including the annual Legacy Partners Breakfast.
Wrap up the weekend by listening to the talent of the music department on Saturday night. The annual fall concert will feature performances from NNU’s top ensembles as well as the special guest performance by NNU instrumentalist alumni.
KidZone Learning Center of College Church of the Nazarene is providing child care for alumni and friends attending events. Care is available by pre-reservation only, so be sure to purchase sessions online or through the Office of Alumni Relations at 208-467-8841.
