Northwest Nazarene University’s online MSN Family Nurse Practitioner program has been named one of the top in the nation by Nurse Practitioner Online. After careful analysis of a comprehensive database of online nurse practitioner programs of all degree levels and specializations across the United States, Northwest Nazarene University was ranked #5.

“We are honored to receive this recognition for NNU’s nursing program,” said Brad Kurtz-Shaw, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We know our NNU graduates are being well prepared to make a significant impact in health care settings across the country and this ranking affirms NNU as a destination of excellence for potential nurse practitioners.”

Programs were evaluated, assigned point values and ranked based on the diversity of nurse practitioner programs offered, accreditation status, years of experience and tenure of faculty, annual tuition and fees in relation to local cost of living, the size of the institution’s nursing department, acceptance rate and competitiveness of the institution and graduation and completion rate.

The mission of Nurse Practitioner Online is to advance the practice and employment of high-level nursing professionals by offering guidance for online educational and career opportunities specific to the nurse practitioner field.
