The Center for Professional Development (CPD) is excited to announce the launch of a new Women in Leadership online certificate program. It will supplement CPD’s successful L.E.A.D. program and will provide targeted training that equips and empowers women leaders to live into their leadership potential.
According to Elizabeth List, Chair of the Psychology department and one of the developers of the program, “We wanted to create something that was healthy, balanced, productive, and also provided tools that would bring awareness, grow self-awareness and focus on best practices in leadership principles through the lens of being a female.”
The program is designed to examine the unique difficulties and competencies that make leadership for women both a challenge and an asset. It also offers opportunities to network with other leaders invested in raising awareness and building women leaders. Finally, it is designed to encourage participants to apply practical approaches for developing a grounded sense of confidence and a toolbox of resources that will help each individual live into her leadership potential.
Abby Louie, CPD course instructor and leadership trainer and coach at Mintify explains, “As women we have natural gifting that prepares us to be good leaders including being caring, compassionate, and generous…. [The program will help women] embrace the beauty of what comes naturally to help them lead, focusing on connection and relationship.”
The program consists of a series of four courses designed and facilitated by female NNU professors and industry professionals who have risen to leadership positions. Each course lasts five- to six-weeks and is fully online. The first course in this series will begin Feb. 3, 2020.
