Masters of Social Work

Social Work

The Master of Social Work program prepares students for advanced micro and macro practice, professional leadership, and lifelong learning by providing a knowledge-based and value-informed education that emphasizes advanced practice with populations living in rural and small town areas. Course work stresses alleviating injustice, discrimination, and poverty; creating social policies and resources that will help meet basic human needs and enhance the quality of life; and assisting in the creation of accessible, responsible, and accountable human service programs.

MSW Cohort

When looking for a social work program, I wanted an emphasis on diversity, professionalism, high standards of educational learning and catering to the working family. NNU did all of that. The emphasis on culturally competent practice and diversity among the staff and students makes NNU different from other universities.—Kerrie Ann Hull, MSW graduate
