Description of Position

The program coordinator is primarily responsible for functions and responsibilities related to supporting the success of nursing students enrolled in the College of Nursing.  The program coordinator works closely with program faculty, other NNU departments, and reports to the Program Directors. The position is part-time and non-exempt.  


Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with nursing team in accreditation processes, university committees,  and College of Nursing committees as assigned
  • Functions as a member of the College of Nursing program coordinator team including cross training to other positions and functions as assigned
  • Coordinates relationships and clinical placements with a variety of healthcare entities  utilized by nursing students
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance is met with Affiliation Agreements/contracts under the direction of program directors. 
  • Facilitates, documents, and updates student compliance activities for clinical agencies to include agency orientation and completion of required forms for clinical sites. 
  • Organizes and engages in student recruitment, onboarding and orienting into enrolled nursing programs
  • Participates in clinical placement planning and scheduling for student clinical rotations 
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to utilize various software programs (ex: Google platforms, Excel) for data collecting, data entry and tracking of information.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and communication skills
  • High School graduate or GED 
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years of work experience
  • Intermediate Excel and Google skills
  • Working knowledge of healthcare terminology
  • The University requires that all candidates be Christian (preferably in the Wesleyan Tradition) and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in general studies or other related healthcare field
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in healthcare setting (medical receptionist, unit clerk, CNA, MA)



Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant with a range of $16-$19 per hour. As the position is part-time (20-24 hours per week), you will not qualify for University benefits. The work schedule is based on the normal NNU workweek (offices are generally open Monday through Friday from 8am - 5 pm).  Some flexibility may be required to accommodate students or community partners in different time zones or with different schedules.
