College of Nursing
The College of Nursing at NNU offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an RN to BSN completion program, a Master of Science in Nursing--Nursing Education & Leadership, and a Master of Science in Nursing--Family Nurse Practitioner. The Bachelor of Science programs and the Masters of Science programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. 

Description of Position
The College of Nursing is seeking to fill a 1/2-time nursing faculty position to begin fall of 2021 in its Family Nurse Practitioner MSN program. As a faculty member in the College of Nursing, he or she will have responsibilities for the teaching of FNP online courses and clinical supervision. The faculty member will help coordinate residential learning experiences across FNP program courses. The role also includes direct student advisement--both academic and clinical. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing education.

Responsibilities: 
The faculty member shall attend to these College-level responsibilities:

• Participate in University faculty meetings and committees. 
• Attend College of Nursing faculty orientation where established guidelines and responsibilities are discussed. 
• Participate in FNP program-level meetings.

This MSN FNP faculty member shall attend to these course-level responsibilities:

• Familiarize self with course components, theory and clinical, including content, outcomes, planned learning experiences and criteria by which students are evaluated.
• Teach in MSN FNP online courses.
• Assist with organization of the four required Residential Labs for the FNP students, including evaluating student’s assessment skills during their final practical exam. 
• Maintain contact with the program director with a status report of students and clinical experiences.
• Consult with the program director when problems or questions arise. 
• MSN FNP faculty will be guaranteed one day a week for clinical practice. 
• Assume responsibility for a group of students in clinical practice. This includes:
  • Monitoring student performance and evaluations.  
  • Assist with clinical site visits in the surrounding area. 
  • Submit to program director designated evaluation tools. 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
• Competency in practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner
• Strong candidates will have demonstrated abilities to be successful in the academic clinical setting.
• Candidates must demonstrate both written and verbal skills, effective interpersonal relationship skills, and evidence of leadership in the profession.
• Candidates are to have a high level of integrity, and personal responsibility must be verified.
• The university requires that all candidates have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU. 
• Current immunizations and Idaho State APRN license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Terminal/Doctoral degree preferred.
• Nursing licensure in states beyond Idaho.

Compensation
