Description of the Position
The Director, Marketing to Students at Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) is a member of the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team overseeing the strategies and tactics that support the marketing of all NNU “products” to students (future and current) while leading team members and processes toward that same end. This person has experience working with both clients and team members on multichannel campaigns that deliver unquestionable business results. The Director position is a full-time, salary exempt role, reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP), Marketing and Communications.

The Director works collaboratively with the sales (admissions) teams to define audiences, goals, barriers, and success. The Director also collaborates with members of the MarCom team to develop strategies and tactics to address and solve the stated challenges and opportunities. The Director leads the work and development of two communication experts of the MarCom team.

The Job – Ongoing Functions

  • Develop and manage an annual marketing plan for future students that is in harmony with both the NNU brand and the requirements of the sales teams
  • Monitor the effectiveness of all initiatives and modify tactics as needed
  • In collaboration with members of the MarCom team, evaluate and analyze competitive marketing activities and strategies to inform future opportunities and approaches
  • Consistently meet with campus partners (sales and product leaders) to report on results, define future needs, and develop stronger relationships
  • Serve as a member of the MarCom Leadership Team 
  • Continually evaluate and update related areas of nnu.edu
  • Consistently report and evaluate results and explore future opportunities and solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications
  • Approximately 5 to 7 years of related work experience
  • Proven ability to grow relationships and trust with partners
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital technologies, digital marketing, and advertising
  • Proven results with managing teams from creative concept to delivery
  • Proven leadership, team development, and mentoring skills 
  • Creative thinker, asker of great questions, and problem solver
  • Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and functions 
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated strategic acumen
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter

Compensation 
Salary determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
