College of Education 
The College of Education at Northwest Nazarene University offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in the preparation of educators.  Accredited doctoral degree programs lead to a PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership. Additional graduate programs lead to education specialist or masters' degrees.  NNU is the only Idaho private Educator Preparation Program to receive national accreditation through The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and full approval of all programs by the Idaho State Board of Education.

 

Graduate and undergraduate education programs have strong working relationships with school districts across the state, educational organizations statewide, and with the Idaho State Department of Education, located in Boise.  We are a group of faculty committed to maintaining and expanding the diversity of our student body and faculty.  We believe in the importance of community within a Christian context and strive to develop a supportive environment for the personal, professional and educational growth of students and faculty.  We lead innovation in teacher preparation programs across the state through the integration of technology and the quality implementation of clinical experiences for candidates. Description of Position
The College of Education is a flexibly organized team with a focus on continuous improvement. The program coordinator role exists to support the faculty and students of the department of education. This is a full-time benefit eligible position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides office and administrative support services for the College of Education (answer phones, receive guests, etc.) during regular office hours
  • Works with NNU Admissions, assisting with student recruitment and enrollment
  • Works with NNU Marketing, creating and disseminating effective marketing materials
  • Maintains confidential student data and records
  • Monitors student program progression from admittance to certification
  • Supports program professors and adjunct faculty with supplies, course materials, technology requests and issues
  • Compiles reports for accreditation, as well as federal and state compliance statistics
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • Two (2) - Four (4) years of experience in a similar or equal role
  • Intermediate competency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and teach others
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to problem solve
  • All candidates must have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

 

Compensation
Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant and will be discussed with individual candidates as they are invited to interview for this position.
