Northwest Nazarene University's education degree programs have maintained continuous accreditation through the National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 1967. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit undergraduate and graduate programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel. The NCATE stamp of approval signifies that the program meets the highest standards of excellence. In addition, NNU's Education programs are approved by the State of Idaho.
The College of Education (COE) at Northwest Nazarene University offers high-quality licensure programs at the Initial and Advanced levels, and non-licensure programs in the field of education. Information on educator credentials, licensure level, and specific catalog for programs within the college is summarized in table below. All COE programs that lead to an Idaho Educator Credential and endorsements are approved by the Idaho State Board of Education (SBOE) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). All programs in the College of Education are fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), the regional accrediting body for Idaho, recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
