Thursday at the NNU Wesley Conference, Drs. Jay Akkerman and Thomas Jay Oord will lead participants in exploring intriguing topics at the faith and culture interface. Recorded TED Talks and live presentations from scholars and creative leaders will be the primary tools for this exploration. Conference participants will reflect together on such topics as innovations in education, body language, marketing and promotion, understanding 20-somethings, invention, crowdsourcing and participation, positive psychology, tenacity, nature images, and persuasive communication. Participants will reflect upon how God may be working in contemporary culture and in local settings, doing new things for a new day.
Friday and Saturday at the NNU Wesley conference present the opportunity to join with more than 100 scholars from around the country to examine Wesleyan understandings of atonement. Richard Thompson, the Wesleyan Theological Society program chair, has invited New Testament scholar Ben Witherington and theologian Randy Maddox to give keynote addresses. Throughout Friday and Saturday, scholars from various disciplines will present original research and insights.
