Meet the IT Department
To more easily service NNU technology needs, several teams perform specific duties within the Department of Information Technology:
Technology and Media Resource Center (TMR) – This team is the front line group to handle and assign all issues regarding campus technical support, computer hardware needs, campus telephones, classroom technology, and computer network maintenance. For specific assistance, please visit the web page, http://help.nnu.edu. The TMR has many self-help articles available on this site.
The TMR also handles all classroom technology requests, and has a wide variety of services, including digital audio recording, video recording, A/V equipment rentals, and much more. To see their services, visit the web page for Technology and Media Resources. The TMR office is located in Wiley, Room 119.
http://cxhelp.nnu.edu/Administrative Computing – This office supports all University administrative departments in their workflow and business processes. They also assist and train employees in the utilization of the administrative data systems. For assistance with these systems, contact the Office of Information Technology, (208)467-8951.
Network and Infrastructure Team – The network team is constantly working to keep you connected to computer, telephone and other technology resources supported by the University network. This team specializes in updating and maintaining the campus network, servers, associated software, and network equipment. If you ever have connection issues, you should contact the TMR, and report all of the details of the issue you are having.
Phones – You may have noticed the VoIP (voice over internet protocol) telephone system on campus. The Telecommunications Team keeps campus phones and faxes working as smoothly as possible, and watches for any needed upgrades or maintenance issues. Need more info on the phones? Check the campus phones page for office phone information, and the student phones page for specific dorm phone information. For telephone technical issues, you may contact the Technology and Media Resources help desk. Please include specific details of the problem you have encountered and the phone number with which you need assistance. An alternate phone number to use when troubleshooting your issue would be very helpful for the TMR. They will also communicate with you via email, so check your email often for a response while the issue is being examined by the TMR.
