Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), a comprehensive university with a rich liberal arts tradition, is located in Nampa, Idaho. The university's location in the southwest part of the state allows easy access to local ski resorts, mountain hiking, and river rafting. Department of Religion
The Department of Religion at Northwest Nazarene University has a respected tradition of service to the institution, the denomination, the region, and the communities of Southwest Idaho.  Religion courses play an important role in the general education program of the University and services several academic majors.  The Department offers both undergraduate and master's degree programs and is developing a doctoral degree.

Description of Position
The School of Theology & Christian Ministries of Northwest Nazarene University is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in Theology to begin in the fall of 2010.   The position includes serving as Director of the new online Christian Ministry degree, teaching online undergraduate courses in theology and church history, and traditional undergraduate general education courses in theology and philosophy.

Qualifications 
Applicants are preferred to have a doctoral degree in a theological discipline.  Applicants who are ABD will also be considered.  Strong candidates will exhibit a proven track record in teaching traditional and online courses, will have strong leadership and administrative gifts, will understand teaching ministry as a Christian vocation, and will be strongly committed to the Church of the Nazarene and its mission and doctrines. Preference will be given to the candidates who are ordained ministers in the Church of the Nazarene and have ministry experience.  The University and School require that all candidates approach theology from a Wesleyan theological perspective, be in agreement with the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene, agree to live within the mission and lifestyle values of NNU, and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University. 

Compensation
The salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant. Full-time faculty will be offered a benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance for employee and family, life and disability insurance, tuition benefits for employee and family, opportunities for faculty development, sabbatical experiences, and a retirement program.
