Department of Physics and Engineering
The Department of Physics and Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree, with emphasis in electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering. This major joins an already strong and successful program of engineering physics, which prides itself on 50 years of solid reputation and quality education. The new degree comprises a rigorous engineering course schedule that will prepare students to enter directly into the workplace or to attend graduate school. The department has just moved into a new, state-of-the-art building, with new laboratory, classroom and research areas.
Description of Position
The Department of Physics and Engineering is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenured track, faculty position in Engineering with the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to begin in the fall of 2010. The teaching assignment will include lower and upper division courses in engineering, advising engineering students, and working with students on capstone design projects. A research program that involves undergraduate students is also expected. Other responsibilities include committee assignments and recruiting.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering; an ABD will also be considered. Strong candidates will possess proven ability in the classroom setting and will understand the teaching ministry as a Christian vocation. In addition, they will demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with students and faculty. The University requires that all candidates be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition) and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU. Compensation
The salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
