The School of Science and Mathematics
The School of Science and Mathematics was formed for students to pursue careers in all science related disciplines. The school consists of departments offering a variety of majors in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics and Engineering.
Department of Physics and Engineering
The Department of Physics and Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with concentrations in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and engineering physics. NNU has a strong and successful program in engineering physics, with a 50 year reputation for high quality. In 2010, the BSE program was started with significant support from the University and many regional high-tech engineering companies. This new rigorous, interdisciplinary engineering curriculum prepares students to pass the FE exam in their senior year and either enter directly into the engineering workplace or attend engineering graduate school. The NNU Engineering Program is housed in the new, state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot Thomas Center, with new laboratories, classrooms and offices. The signature of NNU’s new engineering program is a humanitarian, international missional senior design project. The small student to faculty ratio on our traditional, residential campus provides a healthy environment for close faculty/student interactions and enhanced learning.
