NNU Forensics Team earns awards

NNU’s Forensics Team had a very successful season having earned over 35 awards from four tournaments, including 13 placements in the top three and three team sweepstakes awards. At the National Christian College Forensics Tournament March 8-10 at California Baptist, NNU won 3rd Place Individual Events Team Sweepstakes in Division III, and our own Amina Chinnell-Mateen was voted by her peers as the Student of the Year.

Other top awards at Nationals included:

  • Kelsey Koberg: Bronze Medal Award & Octofinalist in Open IPDA debate; 3rd Place Award in Novice Prose; and, 6th Place Award in Novice Informative
  • Kirsten Jenson: 4th Place Award in Novice Informative
  • Amina Chinnell-Mateen: Bronze Medal Award in Novice IPDA debate; 4th Place Novice Faith Literature; 6th Place Novice Poetry; and,   Student of the Year Award
