“Fiddler on the Roof” is headed for opening night, Thurs., March 6. The show will be at 7:30 pm March 6-8 in Swayne Auditorium.

What you likely would not know if you just come to see the production is all of the work behind the scenes required to mount an outstanding musical. A gifted and experienced staff has been assembled to help guide our students to an excellent production. These people below are hard at work on the show:

  • Director:  Krista Jo Miller
  • Technical Director:  Rick Strader
  • Musical Director/Conductor:  Dr. Philip Miller
  • Assistant Musical Director:  Stephen List
  • Choreographer:  Brian Buxton (professional actor/dancer/choreographer from LA)
  • Costumer:  Lois Van Hooser
  • Props:  Nikki Pearsall

Along with the above list, many other volunteers and staff work on publicity, tickets, sets, etc.  The cast and crew features almost 50 NNU students along with children from the surrounding community. You will recognize Tevye, played by BJ Howard, from his prior roles as Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. Guest artist Natalie Harris, a young professional actress now living in New York, will be playing the role of Golde. Finally, you won’t want to miss the cameo appearance of NNU’s own Dr. Elizabeth List in the role of Fruma Sarah.

With a full orchestra, outstanding cast and an experienced production team, “Fiddler on the Roof” is a show not to be missed. Bring your family and friends for an evening of excellent entertainment. Tickets can be purchased by calling the music office at 467-8413 or going online to nampaciviccenter.com.  (Note: the show is not at the civic center but on the NNU campus.)
