At the beginning of each school year, Kawai America Corporation provides new pianos to NNU’s Department of Music through an institutional program locally implemented by Dunkley Music. These instruments are loaned to the University free of charge; after only one year of use (to prevent deterioration), the pianos are offered to the public at bargain prices.
This year, the sale will be especially broad, thanks to a gift from the Morrison Foundation which funded the purchase of several new Steinway Design instruments, releasing more instruments owned by the music department for public purchase. This generous gift was given to help NNU’s Music Department complete its push to become an All-Steinway School, a status NNU is quickly approaching and that will bring a close to the annual sale.
Baby grands, grands, studios, consoles and quality digital pianos used by NNU as well as other teaching institutions in the area, will be on sale. The selection of pianos will include Steinway & Sons, Boston, Kawai, Roland, Yamaha and many other new and used pianos. Special arrangements will be made through Dunkley Music for delivery, tuning, and warranty service. Cash, checks, and all major credit cards will be accepted. On site financing is available O.A.C.
The sale is Sat., Mar. 1, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., at NNU’s Brandt Center, 707 Fern St., and is open to the public. Private viewing and pre-sale meetings are available by appointment on Friday, Feb. 28 by calling 208-867-7386. For general information about the sale, contact Dr. Walden Hughes in NNU’s Department of Music, 208-467-8461.
