Two Department of Education faculty represented NNU at the 12th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education in Honolulu, Hawaii by presenting research related to K-12 education and technology.

Dr. Heidi Curtis’ presentation stemmed from a study conducted in 2013 on parental involvement in online learning and was entitled, “Parental Involvement and Student Success in High School Online Education.”

Dr. Lori Werth conducted two presentations from research that took place during the spring 2013 semester. The first was entitled, “Technology Integration in the K-12 Classroom: Eliminating the Barriers and Fostering Implementation.” This study was a collaboration between NNU, Idaho Digital Learning Academy and the International Association for K-12 Online Learning and funded by the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning.

The second presentation was entitled, “Teaching Classroom Management to Pre-Service Teachers Using Case Studies” and was directed by Dr. Karen Blacklock with support from Dr. Lynette Hill. Over 1,500 attendees from more than 35 countries throughout the globe attended the conference that provided an opportunity for academicians and professionals from various education related fields to share current research.
