On January 9 – 11, 2014, NNU will take part in hosting for the first time in Idaho, a National Christian Speech and Debate Tournament for homeschooled high school students. Over 400 students and parents from across the country will be on campus and in college church for this event. We are so excited to have them here and would love to have your involvement. So, how can you be involved?

  1. You could judge. Yes, without any experience, we could use your help. They need a lot of judges. The organization asks for you to make a three-hour commitment but would love for you to do more if you can. You can actually sign up for the times you are available and learn more about the NCFCA. Go to ncfca.org, click “Judges,” select “Idaho National Open” and then select the day and times you are available. It will be a great experience, so I encourage you to be involved if you can, and they feed you well, too!
  2. You can make treats. If you want to be involved but cannot commit to judging, you can bake some treats for those helping. NNU students are coming back early to help, so it would be great to have some treats for them, too.
  3. Help answer questions. Whether it is from your office or if you could actually help guide students, we need people on campus to help answer questions and give directions to limit competitors getting lost.

I will be sending out emails to those in the buildings we are using just as a reminder, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Brooke Adamson, NNU Director of Forensics (speech and debate) at MBAdamson@nnu.edu. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
