Shawn Blenker, class of 2000, has been hired as the university’s director of admissions for traditional undergraduate students. He is known as a steadfast leader who personifies the mission of NNU and brings his experience of leading a sales team to the admissions staff.

“NNU is pleased to welcome Shawn back to the NNU community. His passion for the University is evident in his service to NNU, her students and the Church of the Nazarene,” commented Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing Stacey Berggren.

Blenker returns to NNU after successfully managing Dillabaugh’s Flooring America store in Nampa. This valuable experience is added to his six years of NNU admissions experience at NNU and four years of service with the University Advancement team. Early in Shawn’s career, he earned a master’s of business administration from NNU. As an undergraduate student, Blenker served as the SGA President (1999-2000).

Excited for the opportunity, Blenker states, “Northwest Nazarene University quite simply has changed my life and my perspective on life, both while a student and while working here previously. I’m excited to be a part of the mission and ministry of NNU.”

He continued, “I believe God has infused me with a strong passion and excitement for this assignment, and I look forward to using the abilities He’s blessed me with to make an impact. We are going to work hard to ensure that NNU continues to be the first choice among Christian families all over the world when looking for a top-notch, Christ-centered institution of higher learning.”

Blenker and his wife Candice (Gunstream) have a daughter, Jordan, age 7, and son Nolan, age 5.
