NNU to award the last of 100 Centennial Medallion awards

The last group of Centennial Medallion honorees will be presented with their awards at the Centennial Medallion Awards Chapel and Banquet on Friday, November 8. One hundred alumni and friends are being honored as part of the Centennial Celebration, highlighting the real and symbolic contribution of these individuals. The honorees symbolize the sacrifice, commitment and achievements of hundreds of other alumni and friends of the University. The event will be simultaneously broadcast live online at nnu.edu/live-streaming.

A total of 36 honorees will be recognized at the chapel and banquet. Representing Esteemed Professors: Alvin Aller, Juanita Demmer, Ronald Galloway, D.E. Hill, Martha J. Hopkins, George L. Lyons, Darrell L. Marks, Lynn Riley Neil, Ron Ponsford, Leon R. Powers, A. Elwood Sanner, Mary L. Shaffer, Steve Shaw, Donald Tillotson, Marian Washburn, Lilburn E. Wesche, Jim Willis and Robert C. Woodward; representing Alumni in Athletics: Steve Hills, Ashley Puga, Roger N. Schmidt, Elmore Vail and Ed Weidenbach; representing Alumni in Visual and Performing Arts: Danny D. Edwards, Delbert Gish, Jr., (Stephen E.) Hicks and (Jerry) Cohagan, and Jerry Nelson; representing Alumni Authors: Donna F. Crow, Noel Riley Fitch and Cynthia Ulrich Tobias; representing Alumni in Business: Ashley A. Bruce; and representing Alumni in Education: Richard W. Etulain, Paula Kellerer, Randy L. Maddox, Morris A. Weigelt and Steven J. Wyborney.

The chapel event is free and open to the public. A banquet honoring the Centennial Medallion recipients will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Johnson Sports Center Fieldhouse following the chapel presentation ceremony. To purchase tickets for the banquet, visit nnu.edu/homecoming. Friends and family of Centennial Medallion honorees are also invited to a drop-in evening reception at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Sports Center, Dillabaugh Suite, before the men’s basketball game.
