NNU will conclude its yearlong centennial celebrations at Homecoming & Family Weekend November 7-10. In addition to the homecoming traditions of drama, music, athletics and organized class reunions, several special events such as academic discipline reunions, historical displays, a walking tour and a pep rally at a recreated historical campus hangout are planned to tell the century-long story of NNU. Community members, alumni and friends are invited to participate in these events.
As part of the centennial celebration, 100 honorees have been awarded Centennial Medallions over the course of the year for their contributions and service to NNU. The final 36 recipients will be honored during Homecoming Chapel on Friday at 10:00 a.m. These recipients symbolize the sacrifice, commitment and achievements of hundreds of other alumni and friends of the University.
The weekend culminates with a finale concert. The Centennial Finale featuring Michael W. Smith, Choir and Orchestra on Saturday evening will include a 400-voice alumni choir in accompaniment to the popular Christian artist. Following the concert, all are invited to enjoy a piece of cake at the Centennial Birthday Bash.
