Beginning Friday, October 18, NNU hosted over 60 participants for the annual Call Conference, a gathering of high school juniors and seniors from around the region who are exploring a potential call to ministry. This year’s theme of study was the Apostles’ Creed, with worship and teaching sessions centered around the different aspects and definitions of the creed.

In addition to seminars with NNU professors about the persons of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the church and the creed in general, students participated in a number of other activities to help them pursue and understand their calling. They participated in a variety of worship experiences that included art, song and prayer, met individually with campus personnel to discuss their strengths and how they would fit into their future careers, and gathered on Sunday morning with local area ministry leaders to ask questions and dialogue about different ministry areas.

“One of the reasons I love hosting the Call Conference is that it brings some of the very best students in the region to Nampa and exposes them to our campus and our professors,” said Director of Admissions Mike Marston, who helped the admissions office coordinate the weekend in conjunction with the field’s NYI council. “These students are mature, passionate about their futures, and are highly motivated to become the leaders God has called them to be.”
