Associate professor of economics and graduating senior to publish book chapter

Dr. David Chaplin, associate professor of economics in the School of Business, and Sergio Mendoza, 2013 graduate in economics and management, have  received word that their work, “Competitive Balance in Olympic Boxing: 1904-2012,″ has been selected for inclusion in a book by Common Ground Publishing (Champaign, Ill.).

The book’s working title is “Fighting: Intellectualising Combat Sports” and is scheduled to be published September 2013. It will be edited by Dr. Keith Gilbert, professor in the School for Health, Sport and Bioscience at University of East London, U.K. The book chapter is based on a paper Dr. Chaplin and Sergio presented at the 49th Annual Missouri Valley Economic Association Annual Conference in Memphis, Tennessee, October 2012.
