United Heritage Mayor’s Cup  – Crusaders and Coyotes tip-off this week!

NNU men’s basketball team will face off with Canyon County rival College of Idaho this Thursday at the J.A. Albertson’s Activities Center on the C of I campus for the United Heritage Insurance Mayor’s Cup game.

The annual two-game Mayor’s Cup series will tip-off at 7:07 p.m. and will be carried live on KTVB 24/7 Channel 28 or digital channel 7.2.  Game tickets are available at both the NNU and C of I athletic department offices.  Reserved seating is $10 and general admission is $7.

The longest-running sports rivalry in the State of Idaho, the Crusaders and Coyotes will play for the 193rd time, a series that dates back to the 1933-34 season. The Crusaders have won the last five straight games in the series, matching the longest NNU win streak in the historic rivalry for the Crusaders.

The United Heritage Mayor’s Cup is a partnership between United Heritage Insurance, both The College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University, and the Canyon County YMCA.

The games showcase Canyon County’s two, fine four-year institutions, while the YMCA benefits from the generosity of the two schools, highlighting the activities that the next generation of future Crusaders and Coyotes will embark on.

Jay Tust and Brian King will handle the play-by-play and color commentary for KTVB for both games again this season.  The second game of the series will be played on December 4th at the Johnson Sports Center on the NNU campus.
