NNU alumnus and former NASA astronaut visits campus

On April 12, alumnus and former NASA Shuttle astronaut Richard Hieb spoke to an audience of NNU students, instructors, local high school students and constituents about the future of manned spaceflights and the Orion program, a new project being worked on by Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Hieb spoke concerning the history of the shuttle missions, lower space travel and exploration as well as the future of deep space travel and how the Orion project will play a role. Hieb took the audience through the different stages of testing that the multipurpose vehicle will go through before its proposed unmanned test and high velocity re-entry flight in 2014.
