NNU forensics team earns national award
Northwest Nazarene University’s forensics team recently competed against 25 other Christian colleges and universities at the National Christian College Forensics Championships in Jefferson City, Tenn., where their combined team points earned them the national third place sweepstakes award in the individual events, small entry division.
NNU’s winning team members are Heather White of Hillsboro, Ore., Jessica Rogers of Coram, Mont. and April Kerbyson of Mountain Home, Idaho. Heather received a second place award in Extemporaneous Speaking as well as a semi-finalist award in Impromptu Speaking. Jessica placed eighth in both Informative Speaking and Senior Poetry Interpretation, while April placed ninth in Novice Informative Speaking.
The public is invited to NNU’s Annual Forensics Showcase Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in Harter Lecture Hall of the Helstrom Business Building.
