Graduate education student receives national award
Northwest Nazarene University graduate education student Eileen Beatty was presented with the American Council of Educators (ACE) “Adult Learner of the Year” award. Beatty, a fourth grade teacher at North Start Charter School in Eagle, will receive a $500 scholarship to finish her graduate studies at NNU as well as two round trip tickets to Los Angeles, Calif. to receive the award.
“ACE CREDIT allowed me to complete a valuable degree that has served my family and the community well,” Beatty said shortly after receiving her award in Calif. “Every year I tell my students that in order to be successful they need to be tenacious. I have the opportunity to encourage 34 learners to keep striving towards their goals.”
“Even though I have earned my National Board Certification and I am now receiving the ACE Adult Learner of the Year award, I will continue my education to be a life-long learner and enrich the lives of the students I teach,” Beatty stated.
