NNU SIFE to host Women’s Empowerment Conference Nov. 15 at Nampa Civic Center
Northwest Nazarene University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team invites the women of the community to a Women’s Empowerment Conference Tuesday, November 15 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center. Come and support the business women of Nampa and get advice on everything from networking to power suits.
Speakers will begin at 7 p.m. Miss Idaho 2011 Genevieve Nutting will speak on self-esteem; WalMart Regional Facilitator Julynne Sapp will speak on networking, and NNU SIFE alumna MaryJo Usabel will speak on the importance of education.
Women who own or manage local businesses will have booths set up from 6-7 p.m., and a women’s business attire fashion show, sponsored by Maurices, will begin at 8 p.m.
Sophomore business administration major Jordan Hampton (Nampa, Idaho) expressed, “The NNU SIFE team is very excited to provide the women of Nampa the chance to learn more about networking and the power behind their confidence in the workplace. We look forward to seeing women benefit from this event and apply their new knowledge to their careers and future.”
A five dollar entrance fee will be collected at the door. The Nampa Civic Center is located at 311 3rd St. in Nampa.
SIFE is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.
