Northwest Nazarene University is proud to announce the 14th Annual Faculty Award Lecture featuring Dr. James Cresswell Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in the Jackson Brothers Lecture Hall, Thomas Family Health and Science Center.

Cresswell’s lecture entitled, “Towards a Cultural Psychology of Religion that Does Justice to Religious Experience,” explores the roots and potential resolution of the tension between the dynamic vibrancy of Christian experience and cognitive science, which can potentially treat such experience as inconsequential.

“As part of a Christian journey, there is potential for conflict between one’s experience of faith and ideas that are part of academic inquiry,” Cresswell explains. “My lecture explores a potential resolution of the tension between Christian experience and cognitive science.”

The NNU Faculty Award Lecture is free and open to the public. The Jackson Brothers Lecture Hall is located on the first floor of the Thomas Family Health & Science Center, 603 Dewey St. in Nampa.
