Degrees conferred on 478 students

Family members and friends celebrated Northwest Nazarene University’s 95th Annual Commencement Convocation on May 7 as the Class of 2011 graduated.

Degrees were conferred on 478 students, of which 236 are graduate students and 242 are undergraduates. This was the first year the master of science in nursing graduated students with eight participating in commencement.

NNU’s graduates represented 27 states from as far away as New York and six foreign countries that include China, Guatemala, Jamaica, Kenya, South Korea and Vietnam.

President Dr. David Alexander offered the baccalaureate sermon and Dr. Burton Webb, vice president for academic affairs, gave the commencement address.
