Alumni show off their NNU gear at the Olympics

Sisters and NNU alumni Jennifer -04, Jacqelyn -06- and Joanna Vanderpool-07- made a quick trip to Vancouver, British Columbia for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Heading out on a whim, the girls were able to see Apolo Ohno take home a bronze medal in the 1000 Meter Men’s Short Track Speed Skating competition.

“My favorite part of the event was the magnitude of energy and excitement. There were so many fans from Canada, Korea and the United States that had come out to support their athletes,” Joanna said.

The sisters stayed with their aunt and uncle in Washington before making the short drive to Canada for a day in the Olympic village. “We saw the Olympic torch and were able to tour downtown Vancouver before going to our event that evening,” Joanna continued. “It was a great trip, and with it being held so close, how could we pass it up?”
