Faculty Award Lecture Feb. 16
Northwest Nazarene University’s thirteenth annual Faculty Award Lecture Series will feature Dr. Joseph Bankard speaking on the tension between Christian faith and human reason. Dr. Bankard will deliver his lecture entitled “What happens when faith and reason collide? A look at Kierkegaard’s teleological suspension of the ethical” on Tues. Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Through Soren Kierkegaard’s “Fear and Trembling,” Dr. Bankard, assistant professor of philosophy, will examine the Genesis account of Abraham’s call to sacrifice his son Isaac. Assistant Professor of Theology Dr. Brent Peterson will respond to the lecture.
The lecture will be held in the Brandt Center Grand Lobby, located at 707 Fern. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
