Thirteenth annual faculty award lecture Feb. 16
What happens when faith conflicts with reason? Dr. Joseph Bankard explores the tension between Christian faith and human reason in his lecture entitled “What happens when faith and reason collide? A look at Kierkegaard’s teleological suspension of the ethical.”
Through Soren Kierkegaard’s Fear and Tremblin, Bankard examines the call of Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. Responding to Bankard’s lecture will be Brent Peterson, associate professor of philosophy at Northwest Nazarene University.
The lecture will be held Tues, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brandt Center Grand Lobby, located at 707 Fern. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
