Students to Video Conference with Dr. Janet Yellen
Northwest Nazarene University’s student chapter of the Financial Management Association will host guest speaker Dr. Janet Yellen, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Dr. Yellen is a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee chaired by Dr. Ben Bernanke. She is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and has been a faculty member since 1980. Previously she was an assistant professor at Harvard University from 1971 to 1976, served as an economist with the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors in 1977 and 1978 and was on the faculty of the London School of Economics and Political Science, 1978-1980.
From her office in San Francisco via video conference, Dr. Yellen will lecture and answer questions regarding the state of our economy on Tuesday September 15 at 11:15 am, Harter Lecture Hall, 804 E Dewey Street. This event is free and open to the community; however, only current students will be allowed to participate in the Q & A session.
