Northwest Nazarene University is proud to announce that ten National Merit Scholarship students enrolled for the 2009-2010 year. Hollie Lindner, director of marketing and public relations, said, “It is truly an honor to have these scholars as part of the NNU student body. Their contributions both inside and outside of the classroom are valued by the University.”

Students apply for the National Merit Scholarship by taking the Preliminary SAT. Out of the 1.5 million students who take the test, approximately 50,000 students with the highest scores are considered for the scholarship. The winners are chosen based on the student’s abilities, skills and accomplishments.

Congratulations to David Armour (Waxhaw, N.C.), Jesse Baggenstos (Renton, Wash.), Nicole Bouchard (Oak Harbor, Wash.), John Donaldson (Meridian, Idaho), Phillip Grafft (Boise, Idaho), Amos Hendershott (Boise, Idaho), Daniel Jacobson (Boise, Idaho), Grant Miller (Vancouver, Wash.), Brookelyn Thomas (Lewiston, Idaho) and Devan Watt (Nampa, Idaho) on their achievements.
