Meet the NNU President – Seattle Nov. 15

May 1, 2009, 4:58 pm

Northwest Nazarene University invites the community to meet Dr. David Alexander, NNU’s twelfth president, at a reception at the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue on Saturday, November 15 between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m.

President Alexander is not a stranger to the Pacific Northwest. He and his wife, Sandy, spent five years at NNU where Dr. Alexander was a music department faculty member, department chair and lead director of the Northwesterners, one of NNU’s premier choir ensembles. Students related to him and held him in high regard naming him Professor of the Year in 1989.

After his tenure at NNU, the Alexanders moved to Bethany, Okla., where Dr. Alexander took the position of chair of the music department at Southern Nazarene University and subsequently accepted the role of vice president of university advancement.

“Dr. Alexander brings a wealth of educational experience that prepared him well to be our new president,” said Rev. Randy Craker, chairman of the Board of Trustees at NNU. “His history with NNU, his experience as a faculty member and administrator and his Christian character qualify him for the responsibility.”

The Meet-the-President Tour has stops planned in Portland, Ore., Denver, Colo., and Spokane and Tri-Cities, Wash. “The Meet-the-President Tour is a great opportunity for me to travel across the Northwest meeting alumni and friends of Northwest Nazarene University. I look forward to hearing many of stories of the impact NNU has through the lives of her alumni,” said Dr. Alexander.

The reception will be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue located at 11211 Main Street. Please RSVP by November 10 or call (800) 654-2411.
