Financial Aid for International Students

Students may recieve one or all of the aid types shown below, depending upon financial need and qualifications. International students having permanent U.S.A. residency (green card) can apply for the same U.S.A. federal monies (grants, loans) that are available to students with U.S.A. citizenship. Students with U.S.A. citizenship, whose parents are Nazarene missionaries, can apply for international student monies and U.S.A. federal monies.

Travel Allowance of 10%

A 10% tuition discount will be granted to international students for traveling to the U.S.A. to attend Northwest Nazarene University.

Pastor/Missionary Tuition Waiver

A 25% annual tuition waiver is available to any NNU international student whose parent is a pastor or a missionary in the Church of the Nazarene.

Five Tuition Waivers

Five tuition waivers are available which pay one-third of the cost of tuition, fees, and room and board. Tuition waivers are good for a maximum of 4 years. Tuition waivers become available when a student who is currently attending NNU graduates. It is recommended that the student talk to a NNU Financial Aid Officer to request her/his name be put on a waiting list to be considered for the next available tuition waiver. Students can apply for the waiver during any year they are attending NNU. Waivers are given based on student financial need. The waiver will be credited to the student’s tuition costs.

Academic Awards Are Based on NNU GPA Requirements

Academic awards range from $750 to $3,750. The student must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for consideration. The student must provide an academic transcript to their NNU Financial Aid Officer for review.
