Named Scholarship

Endowed Scholarships are a great way to reflect your personal values and support for NNU. You can also establish a new endowment in honor of a loved one. This is a wonderful way to leave a legacy!

  • The minimum gifting requirement for a named endowed scholarship is $10,000. The University will allow up to five years for total donations to reach that minimum if a fund is started with less than $10,000.
  • Endowed scholarships with a corpus amount of less than $25,000 can be designated to benefit one of four areas of student support: academic merit, financial need, area of study, or athletics.
  • Once an endowment has a corpus balance that is greater than $25,000 then additional reasonable restrictions, such as geographic preference, can be added by the donor.

Ministerial Scholarship

As the cost of attending college continues to rise, more and more students are finding it difficult to afford higher education. Nowhere is this need more keenly felt than in the lives of our ministerial students. Frequently, students graduate with tens of thousands of dollars in debt, and it is just as often that graduates struggle to repay that debt because of their commitment to ministry.

  • The minimum gifting requirement for a named ministerial scholarship is $10,000. The University will allow up to five years for total donations to reach that minimum if a fund is started with less than $10,000.
  • The funds generated from a ministerial scholarship will provide assistance to young men and women who are pursuing a career in ministry and who are participating in the Ministerial Program through the School of Christian Ministries at NNU.

School

The naming of a School (i.e. Ė School of Business or School of Science and Mathematics) provides one of the premier vehicles for assuring long-term program prestige and excellence. The proceeds of this endowment provide resources to underwrite and enhance the named School. The naming of a School is anticipated to be long-lasting, but the possibility of organizational restructure must be acknowledged; any such reorganization may have impact on the administrative unit that bears the name after any such reorganization.

The funds necessary for naming one of the Universityís six schools is currently $5,000,000.

Please contact President David Alexander at 208-467-8521 to learn more about naming opportunities for one of the six academic schools at Northwest Nazarene University.
