Financing Your Education

Northwest Nazarene University awarded more than $12.8 million in financial assistance through government and University programs in 2004-05. More than 98 percent of full-time students received financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, allowances, loans and work-study positions. Freshmen judged to have need in 2004-05 received an average award of $13,083, meeting 78 percent of their need.

To apply for financial aid, all incoming freshmen and transfer students must complete the NNU Application for Admissions and Financial Aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1. Please submit the NNU application form by March 1. Once you have submitted these two items, you will be considered "applied" for federal and NNU institutional aid.

Some NNU scholarships may have earlier deadlines or require additional application materials. These include the President's Scholarship and various departmental scholarships. For more information on financial aid at Northwest Nazarene University, please contact the Office of Financial aid at 208-467-8638, or see the financial aid web page.
