"Education is bold, adventurous, creative, vivid, illuminating – in other words, education is for self-activating explorers of life, for those who would challenge fate, for doers and activists, for citizens."
--William Ayers in To Teach: The Journey of a Teacher
If you are someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people, you have come to the right place! Those who have chosen the profession of teaching know that this career provides rewards not fully recognized by those who have never experienced it.
At NNU, undergraduate Education majors choose to become certified in elementary education (grades K-8) or secondary education (grades 6-12 with special expertise in one or two content areas). Both the elementary and secondary education programs feature extensive field experiences beginning in the first class, Introduction to Teaching.
Graduate programs are available at NNU for educators who desire to expand their knowledge and practice of teaching. Designed for certified teachers, these programs lead to Master’s in Education Degrees in: Reading, Exceptional Child, Educational Leadership, or Curriculum and Instruction.
