General Assignment Reporter

DESCRIPTION

Seeking an aggressive general assignment reporter who excels at reporting live. The successful candidate will have strong journalistic skills in writing, interviewing, and ethical decision-making. The successful candidate will understand and demonstrate that live shots are part of storytelling. You will be responsible for generating sources, enterprising story ideas, and follow-ups. We’re looking for someone who puts high value on all of the tenets of journalism and teamwork. At least 2 years of experience as a reporter at a commercial station is preferred. The successful candidate also will be responsible for reporting on KTVB.COM. This is a full time position.

Air Talent - (Part Time)

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the research, development, production and execution of entertaining on-air program content relevant to the target audience as defined by your supervising manager.  In addition to duties related to live and/or pre-recorded on-air presentation, this position may also be assigned commercial and/or promotional production, remote broadcasts, personal appearances on behalf of the station, and other tasks as may be assigned by the Program Director or Operations Manager.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.  Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent delivery skills; ability to work well under pressure; strong in-person interviewing skills and on-air presentation; technical ability; understanding of digital recording equipment; computer proficiency.  Ability to conceive and deliver entertaining content targeting working adults.  Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.  Must show initiative and self-motivation.  Minimum two years on-air experience.  Knowledge of Classic Hits Music preferred.  

DAYS/HOURS

Weekend and evening availability is preferred.
