DESCRIPTION | To Write Love on Her Arms aims to fight the stigma and shame that keeps people feeling hopeless and alone. We hope to be a continual inspiration and help for those who are taking steps toward recovery from issues of depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. At To Write Love On Her Arms, we believe we can do this by bringing people together and by meeting people where they are, in person and online. The goal of the internship program is to facilitate a community of people willing and equipped to live out the TWLOHA mission. Primarily, the Intern Program exists to aid our organization in our goal of connecting others to help and to community. |
DUTIES | Internship duties include the management and development of our Street Team, MySpace and Info accounts. We place interns within departments based on their skill sets in areas such as Graphic Design, Communications, UChapters, Events, Office Administration, and Policy & Research. Our office is based in Cocoa, FL and serves as the home base of TWLOHA. Interns help us keep the office running and assist us in everything we do here. We are currently working on lots of new projects, and our interns will be given a large amount of responsibility within the implementation and development of these new ventures. |

DETAILS | The purpose of this program is to strengthen the study and practice of religion communications, United Methodist Communications offers three communications scholarship and fellowship opportunities. |
OPPORTUNITIES | If you are a member of the United Methodist Church, you may be eligible for: The Judith Weidman Racial Ethnic Minority Fellowship-awarded to one recent college/seminary graduate each year, the recipient will receive a $30,000 salary and benefits and must be willing to relocate; for graduate students, the Stoody-West Fellowship, a $6,000 award for students in the post-graduate study at an accredited U.S. college or university who intend on pursuing a career in religion journalism; or for racial ethnic minority undergraduate students, the Leonard M. Perryman Communications Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship for undergraduate study in religion journalism/mass communications, candidates must be in their junior or senior year to qualify. |
