The Sunnyvale Intern Project is a two year, post-college internship aimed at empowering all members of the church to make their career and passions worshipful. Interns live together in Christ-centered community and find employment in the Bay Area. For more information click here. 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

At least 3 years of an undergraduate degree completed w/ preference for college graduates or young adults with significant vocational experience, Between the ages of 21-29 (at the time of application), Values living in community, Lifelong learner with a teachable spirit, Growing faith in Christ.

Summer Ministry Intern

DESCRIPTION

 Minister in all aspects of a church of 125 in the foothills of Northern California, 30 minutes from Sacramento and 60 minutes from Lake Tahoe.  Working with the Senior Pastor who has been a Youth Pastor, CE Minister.
Opportunity to preach several times and to work with all ages especially young couples, children and youth in VBS, Sunday School and outreach ministry.  This is a shadow position of a senior pastor and can be geared to the interest and needs of the intern. It may be best suited to a upper division ministry major or graduate and could be a couple. 

SALARY/BENEFITS

This is a paid position, up to $6,000, a combination of salary, expenses and scholarship.

Music Ministry Intern

DESCRIPTION

Internship available for a person seeking to learn how to guide and direct a Reformed Worship music ministry at a mid-sized (~400 member) congregation.  The intern would serve under the direction of the Head Pastor and would receive guidance from our current volunteer-but-degreed Music Program Director.  Our congregation has voice and bell choirs of varying experience, abilities, and ages.  This is a fabulous opportunity to get hands on experience directing choirs, selecting music in coordination with a weekly Sunday worship theme, and arranging special music for funerals and seasonal music programs, and planning and conducting handbell instruction events during the summer.  

SALARY/BENEFITS

The internship includes a lodging stipend or housing and travel costs.

DAYS/HOURS

The length of the internship is negotiable, but would be at least three-months and could be up to twelve months in duration.

Intern - Journalist

DESCRIPTION

Perfect for those with an interest in journalistic writing to write for a publication. The work can be done from campus, as long as the student has access to e-mail and Skype and a high-speed Internet connection.   able to assign stories for the interns, who would conduct interviews with missionaries and other mission workers overseas in order to write news, feature articles and profiles. An editor would offer critique and helps that would give interns valuable experience and mentoring in the field of journalism. Well-written stories would be published in our magazine online, providing the intern with a published portfolio of work.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Primarily interested in students who have taken at least one journalism class, or students in the English or Religion departments. It would be helpful to see writing samples from potential interns.

DESCRIPTION

Students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to service can serve as a Campus Recruitment Associate for Catholic Volunteer Network. In this role, CRAs provide on-going outreach to their fellow students discerning post-grad and summer service programs. They work closely with Campus Ministry & Career Service offices to plan events & connect with students. The Network provides training, resources, and a stipend for each CRA. Applications for this position are accepted in April & May for positions that begin in August.

DESCRIPTION

This person must possess writing, photography and graphic design skills to produce brochures, newsletters, and content per departmental request.  Priority responsibility is to brainstorm the content of quarterly publications with the Director of Development and team members, write the material, and design a graphic layout.  Other responsibilities will be editing and proofing written material.  Qualifications include:  strong, clear and creative writing style, ability to meet deadlines and conduct interviews by phone, email and in person.  Please submit writing samples with your application.
