Operations Intern

DESCRIPTION

The Operations Intern works in tandem with the Operations Manager in facilities and equipment maintenance and grounds keeping at Cascades Camp and Conference Center.  Ensuring the overall guest readiness of our facilities and grounds, and supporting the various programmatic needs of the camp, the Operations department serves Cascades in a very “behind the scenes” manner.  This is vital work in fulfilling our mission and the Operations Intern is a huge player in this endeavor. The operations intern helps to provide a safe and beautiful place for guests to rest and retreat. The ministry of Cascades depends on the sincere faith, honest leadership, humble wisdom and patient maturity of those who work together to “make camp happen.” Interns also spend time in group devotional time and Bible study with other interns and staff members.  As a part of the Cascades internship program, we expect that interns work with their supervisors and fellow interns to grow their own skills.  Supervisors will also provide insight into where there is room for growth as well as where interns exceed in these areas.  Interns will be given opportunities to exercise these skills during their time at Cascades.

DUTIES

Duties include, but are not limited to: housekeeping & cleaning of facilities, lodge & facilities preparation, repair & maintenance of facilities, grounds keeping, assistance with building & construction, minor vehicle & equipment maintenance & repair, & other tasks as assigned.
