POSITION | Family Strengthening Worker (FSW) Level 1 or FSW Assistant |
DESCRIPTION | FSW Assistant will assist supervisor in designing work composite from one or all of the following areas of responsibility: |
• Family Skill Building—Assist with parent and family education schedules and classes, as well as Information and Referral for community services, targeting at risk families. | |
• Youth Development Programming – Assist with youth programming to include mentoring, social skill development, resiliency skills, and leadership development. | |
• Senior Services – Assist with providing respite services for caregivers. Provide limited educational, social, and intergenerational activities for seniors. | |
• Research and Program Development—Work collaboratively with CCI staff, grant partners, and community partners to develop and implement quality services. Participate in collecting and analyzing outcome measures. Implement evaluation methods in each program service area. | |
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS | High School Diploma required, AA in Social Work or related field preferred or at least 2 years experience in a social or human services related field in a similar capacity. Bilingual preferred (Spanish), Criminal history clearance, Physical exam and TB clearance, and Driver's License and proof of auto insurance required. |

SALARY | $500 stipend for BSW student or $1000 for MSW with the assumption that students would complete a full 500 hours. |

POSITION | Internship - Crime Research & Planning Unit-Jail Research |
DESCRIPTION | Students, please see your Department Internship Advisor within your major for details on how to register for credits. Work on a variety of projects related to jail research. Projects may include the following: Review history of inmates who had attempted/committed suicide, analyze our inmate discipline and/or grievance process, explore whether an increase in our jail population influences use of force, and others. The intern would also be able to work on projects related to their own interests in law enforcement. |
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS | ~Preference may be given to those students who have strong excel skills and are either currently taking or have taken a research methods course. |

Juvenile Investigations: Research best practices nation wide for school safety plans and develop school safety plans for Ada County. This would include interviewing school admin., teachers, and school resource officers and then writing the plan. | |
STEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program: Work on an unbiased policing project performing some data analysis and preliminary studies on traffic issues. May also include traffic studies. Intern may also assist with VIN number checks and abandoned vehicle coordination. | |
