Dolores (Tycz) -73- and Leon McGoldrick celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 6, 2013. They were married at the Old St. Pauls Church in Nampa, Idaho in 1953.
Tim Wheatley -73- was named to the Washington Officiating Hall of Fame class of 2013. Tim has officiated basketball for 32 years, including 13 State Tournaments and two Championships. He was the number one rated official for both boys and girls basketball at one time and has also received the WOA Meritorious Service Award. Tim has served as the President of both the Boys Basketball Association and the Girls Basketball Board and was instrumental in the development of the rating system for officials that is still being used today.
Vance (75) and Juanita (75) Frankamp spent the last 6 and a half years working in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There they started a non-profit charitable organization called River Crossing. You can find it at rivercrossing.asia. Their work was with hill-tribe children living in children's homes. The focus was to provide seed money for small business enterprises that young people can participate in that will provide dignity and work skills for the future. They are back in the U.S., but the work is ongoing.
Jim Jones -79- has retired after 34 years of teaching, but has accepted a part time position at Nampa Christian High School teaching PE and coaching Varsity Women's Basketball. Jim taught in the Fruitland School District for 27 years and has coached basketball over 20 years.
Daniel Wiese -79- is the newest volunteer chaplain for the local police and fire departments, in Juneau, Alaska.
Tim Szymanowski -82- has joined the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation as executive director of development. Tim will work with the deans and directors of the College of Natural Sciences, Lyon Arboretum, SOEST, and IFA to expand fundraising efforts and broaden philanthropic support for each of these science-related areas.
Carol E. (Crane) Hawn (CarolBeth) -83-, of Eagle, Idaho, received a Master of Music, Performance (Piano) degree from Boise State University in December of 2012. She teaches private piano lessons and also is adjunct faculty for Boise Bible College, teaching private piano lessons and a keyboard class.
Fred Humber -84- along with his wife, Karen are co-pastors to Peninsula Church of the Nazarene in Long Beach, Wash. beginning July 1. Fred previously served as a chaplain with Nursing Home Ministries, Inc. and as part of the Senior Adult leadership at Liberty Bible Church in Vancouver. Karen served as an associate pastor at Celebration Tabernacle in Portland, Oregon for 17 years before transitioning to the Church of the Nazarene.
Chris McNaught -89- recently published a book entitled, "Less is More Than Enough." It is about his journey to simplify his life, how he has dealt with physical challenges the last several years, and how he is learning to seek significance in the midst of life's turmoil. The lessons he is learning are teaching him to live a life of contentment.
Suzy (Isola) Rainey -91- and husband Dave -90- just moved back to Nampa where Suzy accepted a third grade teaching position at Nampa Christian. Dave is still employed at Central Rent to Own in Nampa.
Lance McGrath -92- joins the library at C of I after working at the library of Northwest Nazarene University since 2005.
Ron Anthony -MEd-94- has been appointed superintendent of the Buhl School District following 5 years as principal at Buhl’s Popplewell Elementary.
Jeff Kinneeveauk -96-, president and CEO of ASRC Energy Services, was named 2012 Professional of the Year by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. The award was presented during the 34th AISES Annual National Conference, held in November in Anchorage, Alaska.
Tessa (Phillips) Martinson -96- is now the Principal of Morning Son Christian School (Preschool - 6th grade), an interdenominational ministry of the Church of the Nazarene of Fergus Falls, MN.
Shannon (Grigory) Herndon -01- and her husband, Joshua, were commissioned in February 2013 by the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene as career missionaries. They have been serving on the Western Mediterranean Region for the past three years in Madrid, Spain in church leadership development and theological education. They are currently on Home Assignment doing deputation services through the end of August. They will return to Spain with their two children, Karis (age 8) & Kaeden (age 6).
Jason Van Winkle -04- has joined Zions Bank at the Eagle and Chinden Financial Center in Boise as a vice president and commercial relationship manager. He will be responsible for developing and maintaining banking relationships with business customers.
Scott Nelson Foster -05- has been commissioned to create two original, near life sized portraits for St. Kateri Tekakwitha parish of Schenectady NY. The portraits will commemorate the life of St. Kateri, a 17th century Mohawk woman born near in the village of Canaouaga--near modern day Auriesville NY. Her courageous faith, and love of God led to her canonization on October 21, 2012. The completed paintings will hang in the St. Kateri Tekakwitha and Our Lady of Fatima churches.
Jeremy -05- and Libby (Tedder) -07- Hugus were married last fall and are living in Casper, Wyoming. Jeremy joined the firm of Murane and Bostwick in Casper in May and focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation and medical malpractice defense. He also continues to teach online bioethics courses as an adjunct professor for Regis University in Denver, Colorado and he works for the Clinical Ethics Consultancy, LLC in Denver as a consultant and faculty lecturer.
Clayton Borah -06- is a graphic designer for MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) in Nampa. He previously ran his own graphic design firm. Clayton earned his Master of Fine Arts in media design from Full Sail University following his BA from NNU.
Nancy Segovia –MAR-07- is an award winning writer and author of a new book, “Shine: How to Walk the Talk” through Faith and Reason Publishing. Nancy lives in Cabot, Arkansas.
Benjamin Schmitt -07- graduated in June 2013 from Roseman University of Health Sciences in Henderson, Nevada with a doctorate in Pharmacy.
Kyle -08- and Kristen (Parke) -11- Mayer have returned to Nampa! Kyle is working as a Product Yield Enhancement Engineer at Micron and Kristen is serving as the Children's Pastor at Karcher Church of the Nazarene.
Benjamin Cremer -08- has moved to Boise and is the pastor of Boise Euclid Church. He completed his Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Nazarene Theological Seminary and was involved with young adult ministries at Kansas City First Church.
Shawna Jaurez -08- has been hired as the head of the softball program at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Washington. Juarez has experience playing softball at both the community college and university levels and has coached high school and select teams.
Shawn Hyde -08- has been hired by Yeo & Yeo CPAs & Business Consultants as a business valuation manager. He joins the firm's Business Valuation & Litigation Support Group.
Chris Ryan –MEd-09- is assistant principal at East Junior High School, in the Boise School District where he has worked since 2001. Chris earned his BS in secondary education from U of I in 2001 and his Master of Educational Leadership from NNU in 2009.
Travis Forrest -10- entered his first year with the Idaho Stampede as an Account Executive after completing an internship with the team during the 2012-13 season. His responsibilities include sales of sponsorships, season tickets, mini-plans, group tickets and suites, as well as assisting with ticketing and game day operations.
Jack Carpenter -10- has joined Northwest Bank in Boise as vice president and treasury management officer. He is also a member of the Boise Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and the Northwest Nazarene University Alumni Association.
Chelsie (Collins) Kaschmitter -12- is marketing and communications coordinator for Mission Avaiation Fellowship in Nampa in MAFï¿½s learning technologies department. She previously worked as a marketing and social media assistant for a local advertising agency.
Kelly Cook -13- is currently teaching English to elementary school students in the Republic of Korea and successfully wrote, illustrated, and published her first childrenï¿½s book earlier this year using the online crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Her book, ï¿½The Mighty-Fine Adventure of Piper and Floyd,ï¿½ tells the simple story of a girl (Piper) and a giraffe (Floyd) who get lost and try to find their way back home.
Greg Wiles -EdD-2013- is superintendent of Nampa Christian Schools. He comes to this position following twelve years with the Nampa School District, most recently as principal of Lone Star Middle School since its opening in 2008. In 2010 Greg won the Middle Level Principal of the Year award from the Idaho Association of Secondary Administrators, and was named the 2010 Transformational Leader of the Year by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
