School of Nursing and Health Sciences
Welcome to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences
Welcome to the webpage for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS). SNHS is presently comprised of the Department of Nursing and the Department of Kinesiology.
Nursing is housed in the brand new Thomas Family Health and Science Center. We have two nursing skills laboratories with patient simulators, a designated classroom, student break room, conference room, and faculty offices. We share the second floor of this building with the biology faculty and their “creatures.”
The Department of Nursing has two programs:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – a year of prenursing followed by three clinical years in nursing. Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) – an online graduate program with a track in nursing education
The Department of Kinesiology is housed in the Johnson Sports Complex:
- 1/3 of the kinesiology students are teaching majors and 2/3 are recreation/sport management majors. A student can also take a minor in athletic training. Kinesiology also has the responsibility for the challenge course on campus.
Please call/email/visit us here at NNU. We look forward to hearing from you. You might like to talk with a student in one of our programs who can tell you “like it is at NNU.”
