The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Northwest Nazarene University offers the working professional nurse an opportunity to complete a master’s degree through an online program of study. This program is ideal for those with work and/or family responsibilities.

Students admitted with an associate degree-RN may complete their course work in three years (two semesters undergraduate articulated coursework and four semesters plus one summer session of graduate courses) while students admitted with a baccalaureate degree-RN may complete their coursework in two years (four semesters plus one summer session of graduate courses).

The program utilizes a cohort model for all courses that supports an interactive learning environment as well as collegiality throughout the student’s progress. The RN to MSN Program prepares nurses to work as educators in academic, hospital and community-based settings. Students specialize in curriculum development, teaching-learning strategies and evaluation. Particular emphasis is placed on tailoring content and presentation to learners' needs. Practicum experiences take place in a variety of educational settings.
